Semi-Metallic Track Day Brake Pads: But they're also streetable!
EBC Redstuff Sport/Autocross disc brake pads are designed for sports cars used for fast high performance road driving and autocrossing. EBC's semi-metallic Redstuff formulation is a true sport pad with a medium lifetime.
EBC SAYS:
“Following significant race and track testing and developments EBC are proud to launch this new range of ceramic Redstuff pads for the fastest street cars and for track day use.”
“The new material is only available for a selected range of fast street cars and was recently tested through several hundred kilometers of race use at the Nurburgring and came through with flying colours. EBC Redstuff ceramic is one of the first pads to be offered that is ECE R-90 compliant and therefore legal for road use and yet is capable of withstanding track day torture.”
Features and Benefits of Redstuff:
For repetitive heavy braking Sounds like us!
Friction co-efficient starting at 0.3µ and rising to 0.33µ once warm
Medium initial bite with friction steadily increasing with heat
Heat stable to an incredible 1380° Fahrenheit Zowie - that's HOT!
Low rotor wear This is really nice!
Longer pad wear than Greenstuff
These are nice features for an all around brake pad - not just track - not just
street - but good for both!. They take punishment, but they're not super
abrasive like a lot of dual purpose street & track-day pads - Nice!
EBC Redstuff pads (friction level of 0.3µ) used on the street will feel more like standard original brakes (typical friction level of 0.25µ to 0.35µ). EBC Redstuff pads offer high resistance to brake fade and a friction level that steadily rises with temperature to reach 0.33µ at 1380° Fahrenheit. This makes them appropriate for extreme high speed driving and repetitive heavy braking use. Redstuff brake pads provide longer pad life than Greenstuff brake pads under extreme conditions with virtually no brake rotor abrasion and wear.
Note: Brake pads are sold in complete sets per axle, front or rear.
