Designed entirely by Racing Beat for the '04-'05 MazdaSpeed MX-5s.
This muffler features a deep, throaty, exhaust note, without any harsh, buzzy or “droning” tones. It was "tuned" in-house by Racing Beat’s engineering staff to produce a modest increase exhaust loudness at low speeds, but produces an aggressive growl under full throttle -- as it should be!

The overall external design and key dimensions of Racing Beat's Mazdaspeed muffler is identical to their non-turbo Power-Pulse version. The fundamental differences are in the "internal" specifications to allow the exhaust tone to produce a slightly more aggressive tone on the MazdaSpeed. Soooo, this muffler can also be installed on a 1999-05 non-turbo (Manual Transmission only) Miata if you desire a more aggressive and louder exhaust tone!
AND THE REVERSE IS TRUE FOR FITTING THE RACING BEAT NON-TURBO
POWER-PULSE MUFFLER ONTO THE TURBO MAZDA-SPEEDS:
Yes, it can be done. But even though the non-turbo muffler will fit onto the Turbocharged Mazdaspeed version, we feeel that the sound level output is way too quiet to be considered a practical application.
Since the exhaust on the MazdaSpeed Versions of the Miata passes through the turbo, then a catalytic converter, then a presilencer, and then finally through a muffler, the resulting exhaust note is over restricted. So when the silencing capability of the non-turbo muffler is applied to the MazdaSpeed version, the final exhaust note is so quiet it sounds weird.
Each muffler is supplied with a replacement OEM donut style gasket. Installation can be completed using basic hand tools. Simply unbolt the two retaining nuts, slip the original muffler off the rubber hanger grommets, and then reverse the process for installation of the new Power Pulse muffler! The muffler is emissions legal and meets all California sound level requirements.

The heart of the Power Pulse muffler is the 304 polished stainless steel canister. This polished muffler canister is supplied with stainless steel inlet and outlet pipes for maximum durability.

To optimize performance potential, this muffler features the same 2.375-inch Straight-Flow internal design configuration as the Racing Beat 1990-97 Miata Power Pulse and RX-7 Turbo II exhaust systems. Finished with a 3.5-inch polished 304 stainless steel tip, this large diameter muffler will handle applications from stock to race.
