The California Pop-Top is easy to install directly from the package.

And with a few pointers shown here, installation becomes SUPER easy!

Each California Pop-Top come complete and ready to install with printed instructions - and, the instructions are pretty clear.  But to illustrate how easy it really is, here are "step-by-step" photo-instructions that demonstrate a Pop-Top installation on a 1997 Miata.  Installation on other model years is exactly the same.

STEP  1.

• Lay the Pop-Top over the cockpit of the car and secure the edge of the fabric under the windshield wiper blades.
  

(Note that the Pop-Top "logo" is facing up on the

  driver's side (USA) of the windshield.)

STEP  2.

• Hook the elastic loop over the driver's side-view mirror. (This elastic loop will help to hold the cover in place while you visit the opposite side of the car.)
  

• Now slip the cover over the passenger side-view mirror.
  

STEP  3.

• Locate the broad elastic band on the side of the cover.
  

• Then slip the cover over the driver's side-view mirror.
  

  (Note that the side-view mirrors are both

  completely covered by the Pop-Top fabric.)

STEP  4.

• At the back of the car, pull the draw cord over the trunk lid and into the trunk.
  

  (Note that the draw cord goes around the

  "sides" of the trunk lid.)

• Position the cord so that it lays over the rear lip of the trunk lid.
  

STEP  5.

• Throw the excess draw cord into the trunk.  When the trunk is closed, it will be captured by the lid adding an anti-theft feature to your Pop-Top.
  

STEP  6.

• When the trunk lid is closed, the Pop-Top will be drawn tight to the body of the car.
  

  (Note that the draw cord is visible

  on the outside rear lip of the trunk lid.)

STEP  7.

• Secure the elastic loops at the sides of the Pop-Top to the driver's and passenger's door handles.
  

STEP  8.

• Give your Pop-Top a quick check to ensure proper fitment.  Every part of the cockpit should be covered as shown here.
  

  (In this example, the top of the Miata is

  up; utilizing the maximum fabric of the

  Pop-Top.  When the top is down, complete

  cockpit coverage is even easier.)

The California Pop-Top is made of DuPont™ Tyvek®, a lightweight, high-tech fabric with a smooth finish that won't harm your Miata's paint.

Tyvek® fabric has the ability to turn water, as well as block harmful UV sunlight to protect your Miata's interior.

The gathered elastic visible in the last photo helps to secure the Pop-Top whether your Miata's top is up or down!

  REMOVAL OF THE CALIFORNIA POP-TOP

  Step A.      Lift the windshield wiper blades "by hand" and then pull the Pop-Top fabric up onto the

   windshield so that they are no longer held in position by the wiper blades.

  Step B.      Open the trunk lid.  Remove the draw chord from the trunk and lid.  Lay the draw chord and

   rear portion of the Pop-Top onto the main part of the cockpit.

  Step C.      If the side elastic loops are fastened to the door handles, release them now.

  Step D.      Release the elastic straps from the side view mirrors.  Then fold the Pop-Top forward

   onto the top of the windshield.

  Step E.      The Pop-Top can now be folded, or rolled; or can be randomly stuffed into the built-in

   storage bag located under the logo at the windshield area.

INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE
