The process is simple:

Only select items that are offered on our website

Organize only one Group Purchase at a time.  Don't try to combine multiple items unless they go together; like brake pads with rotors, or stereos with speakers, etc.

IF POSSIBLE, select items that you or another reliable member are familiar with, because you may be asked questions about the items; such as, product details, dimensions, and installation tips, etc.

When you post the offer to your members, give them a deadline for participation.  Then stick to your deadline!  Without a deadline many members will be slow to respond.  And if you postpone your deadline and the word gets out to your membership, the slow-pokes will get angry with you because you didn't postpone another week, month, YEAR, just so they could think about it some more.

A 10-day or 2-week deadline is customary and plenty of time for people to make up their minds.

Shorter is sometimes better when it comes to deadlines because excitement and interest is diminished with long waits just to collect the names of the participants.
If your deadline is too long, don't be surprised if you receive cancellations.

HOT TIP!
If you or another reliable club member is familiar with the item and have "first-hand" experience with installations, try organizing a Club Tech-Day for a "Group Installation" of your club's Group Purchase.  You'll get several benefits from this approach:
The best "Deepest Discount" prices are offered when all of the items are being shipped to one address.

Shipping to one address really is the best for you - REALLY!   This is because everyone is happy when all of the order arrives at the same time.  If the shippers delay someone's individual order for some quirky reason, and those members know that other people have received their order, tempers could flare - even if the delay is for only 1-day.  When this happens and when their scornful concerns are conveyed via your club's "group" email, the club camaraderie will be hurt; your members may be reluctant to participate in future Group Purchases, and the member's appreciation for you might not be heightened as much.

Don't let this last comment discourage you.  This is just a tip to help
you avoid common mistakes, and to assist you in organizing a better
Group Purchase.  Group Purchases are actually much easier than they
look and they can be a lot of fun.  Moreover, when done properly, your
members really will appreciate you for taking the initiative to benefit them,
and for making your club more fun for everyone!
